Extraordinary Experience

Hi and thank you very much for visiting my website. My name is Tommaso D’Apice, an Italian travel photographer. I am originally from Naples but I moved to London in 2011 for a new challenge. I learned English, met interesting and inspiring people and I really liked the city so I still live here.

Since I was a kid I always liked to watch old pictures, mostly for curiosity, to see how my parents looked like when they were younger or how my neighbourhood was 30 years before for example. My father had an old film camera, a flash, and a little tripod, nothing professional, but a really big passion for photography and the desire to leave us some memories. I inherited his passion for photography, and a strong desire to the world the way I see it. My first job was as a shop assistant in a store, in there I bought my first camera a Nikon F65 but most important I met the person who helped me find my way in photography, a newspaper reporter. Since then my passion for photography has grown steadily.

Every day, where ever I go, I always look for beauty, a place to shoot, a particular angle or point of view. I go to work, wait for the train and think from which angle I should photograph the incoming train, which picture would better tell my story. My holiday plan starts with which gears I will take with me, which tripod, do I take ND filters, do I need a telephoto lens? I love taking pictures, it makes me see the beautiful side of the world, the beauty inside of people, the one you can only see through their eyes.
